Faith and purpose hang in the air at the office of the Momentum Waikato community foundation.

It's a faith in the people and a purpose to make the region better tomorrow than what it is today.

In order to do that, in order to make changes, we have to know where we are, who makes up our community, what makes the Waikato tick - the good, the bad and the ugly.

That's been occupying the mind of Momentum chief executive Cheryl Reynolds, the woman managing the Waikato Vital Signs project, a community-based road map to the Waikato we want to create.
