This week is National Volunteer Week, a time to pause and thank the collective contribution of the wonderful volunteers who make the Waikato’s communities tick.

In particular, we thank the numerous volunteers who make Momentum Waikato thrive as your local community foundation.

The theme of this year’s Volunteer Week is ‘recognise, connect and reimagine’.

We recognise those who give their time and expertise for the benefit of our local community, connect people who care with causes that matter, and reimagine a future where our community has all the philanthropic investment and funding it needs.

The trustees on the Momentum Waikato Board, all business or community professionals, contribute many hours each month without compensation.

Our giving circles the Waikato Women’s Fund and the Waikato Intercultural Fund are led by committees of volunteers working diligently to provide their members with the opportunity to multiply their support for the local causes they care about.

The Waikato Regional Theatre project is happening thanks to the volunteers of the Waikato Regional Property Trust and our fundraising Campaign Cabinet.

THANK YOU to all of these wonderful governance teams, our individual project volunteers and the many folks whose support them as we all work towards creating ‘A Better Waikato for Everyone, Forever’. We truly appreciate the skills, energy and care you give so generously.
